I am an Uber Eats driver in Houston with a 99% good rating out of 2000 deliveries. Let me explain why the overwhelming amount of complaints on this site are about McDonalds - the young people who work there are underpaid and in many cases overworked - they have told me so because i have asked - wth with you guys? They completely seal the bag ( that is good!) but - they driver cannot look in there and see and check the food list. Also - if it's after lobby hours they make the driver wait in the drive thru line which is always very long. Some drivers are willing to wait 40 minutes for you - BUT - that is why your order is getting cold and old, you have ordered it, they have maid it, but MCDONALDS will not give it promptly to the driver. Many drivers will not be subjected to this - a thumbs down and no tip from you for something out of their control, so -- WE DECLINE THE DELIVERY - this means - yes, they are searching for a newbie driver who does not know they do not have to wait 40 minutes in the McD line to make $3 ( that is the payment for mcD deliveries) for a mad client. This is actually very similar for MANY of the fast foods including Burger King. You need to book a restaurant that CARES about DELIVERY customers - Denny's, IHOP, SUBWAY to name a few. Uber Eats has no control over the restaurants, it's an App. To guarantee happiness we ( I am an UE customer also and have had only one bad experience) MUST choose a professional restaurant - thank you and I am very sorry for these bad experiences, my fellow delivery people in Houston go the extra mile we have a good rep here

Never had any issues what so ever with Uber eats food comes on time fresh & hot you can track the driver how far he is & always get messages from the driver if there is any delays or food are not ready from the pick up points. Absolutely shocked by so many negative reviews.

I am an Uber Eats driver and also a UE customer, it is my day off today so I had some food and dessert delivered to myself and it all went very well, I am very satisfied. Out of about 25 deliveries TO me 1 was bad - Zeezo Abdul Azeez of Houston stole my food. But all other experiences have been good and sometimes wonderful. I have a 99% high rating from the clients but even I have situations where i cannot complete the delivery. I will illustrate a few of them. 1. 2 days ago I delivered to a high school, the gate was locked. I called the client and texted the client several times and no answer. When this happens - Uber's policy is for the driver to wait 8 (EIGHT) minutes for the client to come get the food as your OTHER clients food may get old. I waited the eight minutes and right at 8 minutes the client texted " Just come in the gate". Well, the gate needed a card or code to get in. So with no showing that the client was going to solve this i cancelled and left so my other clients could have their food promptly. 2 days before that, I was standing outside of a big mansion, also with a gate at 3am with the food calling and texting the client to no avail. right at the 8 minute mark the client calls me - "medicated" and says " wait i will get done with my shower", I waited about another extra minute and then canceled and left because there was no telling when the client would come get the food and my other clients orders needed to be fulfilled. The restaurants ARE cavalier more times that you would care to know and the fast food ones, especially McD are very cavalier. there is a Burger King in my city where the teenagers that work in it overnight purposely do not come to the window to make clients upset so they will not order delivery - after all, it's just more work for them and they are making min wage.I have had to cancel fast food orders after lobby hours as the drive thru line is so long UE is not set up to wait an hour in a line and McD and Jbox etc do not care. So - food delivery can be a great experience, sometimes essential but - WE, the clients must do our part. You must have a way of communicating, you must stay by your phone until the delivery is complete to help the driver find you.I saw one review on here by a lady who was working in a large shopping mall and could not be by the phone to guide the driver to her exact location, she just expected him to know where she was. If you live in a large complex or other place which is a little bit of a curve ball to find - meet the driver outside. he has waited in line, dealt with the restaurant employees, used his time and gas. If you are in good health, you would be a good person to meet him outside - you will get your food quicker and do a good deed, as he does have other clients. If you live behind a gate, or in an area going thru construction, or an area where there is no parking - you will need to meet the driver halfway to assure yourself of getting your food promptly, food delivery is a 2 way street not a one way street. Also if you are ordering after dark, be aware that navigation in it's present form will take the driver within a few houses/apts etc of the target and the addresses and building numbers might not be readily visible - communicate and meet the driver outside. Also - use the app responsibly - yes you have to make sure you put the right address in the app, it's possible to change the address after ordering but not always. You are held responsible for ordering the food, that's the way it's set up.Now, there are bad apples in every bunch but they do get weeded out, I am here addressing issues dealt with by drivers who are responsible and care. I have no respect for drivers who are cavalier with their responsibility - they will be weeded out. Two way street - hope to see you soon!

Received everything besides a bottle of water. I went for a toasted sandwich it was still warm enough. Only isuues i had was i payed for priority but was waiting for an hour and it would be helpful if the app asked for house numbers because it was heavely raining and i was having to leave my property and try to direct the driver in my Pajamas so i got soaked as did some of the food.

RUDE ARROGANT DRIVER
Generally I've never had issues once a driver ran off with my food was given a full refund and recently absolutely disgusting driver didn't check what he was picking up he was told to wait, then when instructed to ask him to.go collect the order he was rude, refused and hung up on me , again I was refunded but it's not my fault I'm paying for a service not having to deal with men who believe they have a attitude thinking they are above everyone else especially woman. Uber need to make clear expectations of how drivers treat there customers and if items are not collected as drivers need TO CHECK before they leave that they will rectify the issues and not be insulting to the customer
