The Mill Foundation For Kids, Inc., along with Southington North Baseball, is proud to sponsor the first annual Kids Helping Kids Hit-A-Thon and HR Derby events! What is a hit-a-thon? Each participant, open to all SNLL players, will collect pledges for the total distance of three hit balls (or a flat donation). The distance of each hit is measured and multiplied by the per foot pledge.

The Home Run Derby is for Major League players only who have hit a home run during the major’s season. Each participant will have the opportunity to hit as many home runs as he can, using the pitcher of his choice, with a limited number of outs available (any result other than a home run is considered an out). Participants will collect pledges per the number of home runs hit (or a flat donation). All proceeds raised through these events will be used by the foundation to support its mission. The goal of the day is to provide kids in SNLL the opportunity to help other kids who are dealing with illness and are less fortunate.

The group is a Southington-based, 501(c)3 charity (EIN 51-0612597) whose mission is to ease the burden of children dealing with pediatric illness by providing toys and gifts to children’s facilities for the use of children recovering from illness.

More about The Mill Foundation For Kids, Inc.

The foundation was formed in December 2006 by Southington residents, a charitable effort to help children of all ages, races, religion and socio-economic backgrounds who are dealing with pediatric illnesses. We have a clear mission – to do what we can to bring a smile to these children’s faces, if even for a fleeting moment. How do we do this? We raise money to buy toys, arts & crafts, video games and other gifts that these kids need during their hospital stays or at home. These illnesses do not take days off and these brave kids need every positive moment that they can get. We also donate funds to various research efforts whose goals are to eradicate these pediatric diseases. The wonderful institutions to whom we donate tell us all the time how valuable a service this is to them and their patients. And we know firsthand how necessary and positive these gifts are to these children. We've seen their smiles time and time again and nothing can ever replace the feeling we get when we see their faces light up! These children are the truest heroes in the world. We hope you and your child(ren) will help us with this cause!
