The Mill Foundation For Kids, Inc., along with
Southington North Baseball, is proud to sponsor the
first annual Kids Helping Kids Hit-A-Thon and HR Derby
events! What is a hit-a-thon? Each participant, open to
all SNLL players, will collect pledges for the total
distance of three hit balls (or a flat donation). The
distance of each hit is measured and multiplied by the
per foot pledge.
The Home Run
Derby is for Major League players only who have hit a
home run during the major’s season. Each participant
will have the opportunity to hit as many home runs as he
can, using the pitcher of his choice, with a limited
number of outs available (any result other than a home
run is considered an out). Participants will collect
pledges per the number of home runs hit (or a flat
donation). All proceeds raised through these events will
be used by the foundation to support its mission. The
goal of the day is to provide kids in SNLL the
opportunity to help other kids who are dealing with
illness and are less fortunate.
The group is a
Southington-based, 501(c)3 charity (EIN 51-0612597)
whose mission is to ease the burden of children dealing
with pediatric illness by providing toys and gifts to
children’s facilities for the use of children recovering
from illness.
