I love ModCloth
The one-star reviews baffle me!!
Some of my favorite pieces come from ModCloth. I've been shopping with them regularly for years. As an avid online shopper, I'm also a regular item returner. Although the back and forth shipping with ModCloth can add up, I've always found thier customer service to be **FAR** superior to other online vendors.
I have owned several dresses from ModCloth for many years and I find the quality of the dresses is well aligned with thier prices. They are the same quality you'd exect from a department store - but the designs are unique and beautiful.
Many of my favorite dresses are from ModCloth. I get many compliments on my dresses and I'm always happy to recommend ModCloth.

Fun products, non-rewarding customer experience
I can admit that I stalk the Modcloth website for a great find on nearly a daily basis, but I rarely find something that is worth the unrewarding experience of being a Modcloth customer.
Modcloth is aware that it has a niche market, and they price and service accordingly. In a nutshell, you're either willing to go through their rigamarole to try on that adorable mid-century inspired squirrel print dress or you're not.
1) Returns are a time consuming hassle.
As one reviewer points out, their return policy is clearly stated on the website. However, they fail to inform that there is often a 30-day turnaround from the time you drop off your package to the time they receive and process. I once paid my own return shipping in hopes to expedite the process from the normal parcel service. This only confused the process more and in the end, same 30-day turnaround.
It's also worth noting that they have a fairly short (30-45 days) return period.
2) Customer care is non-existent.
Yes, they provide customer service. The chat service is convenient and quick. However, they fail to provide an actual customer CARE experience. There are no rewards for repeat, loyal customers, and they have been unwilling to provide any extension on promo codes if even due to their own app failures. 20% off is barely a discount in my humble opinion, and if you have a customer ready to throw down $300 it seems in best business interest to accomodate the customer.
I will reluctantly continue to peruse Modcloth but over time, I have become much more selective on when to actually make a purchase because of their lack of care. Step it up, Modcloth. Your products aren't cheap - REWARD YOUR CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR LOYALTY AND TIME!!

Love the store, no troubles!
I love this company, I buy from them at least once a year when the sales are best. This of course makes the time a little longer the receive, and as an Australian it takes even longer to get to me sometimes - but it's almost always worth it! The few times where a size has been wrong or not fitted quite right, the service team have been so sweet and understanding, but I often just pass the smaller/weirdly fitting items onto friends and family before finding something more suited the next time!

I love the styles
The styles on the website are absolutely gorgeous. Sadly I live in Germany, so I have to pay ENORMOUS shipping costs. They should offer free shipping if i spend enough.

Great place to buy from!
I found my 10th grade homecoming dress on Modcloth.com. They shipped it fast and in great condition. The website is rather pricy but if you find a good deal on the clothes then it's definitely worth it! There are a few things I would be careful about though. Make sure your item isn't marked "Final Sale". If it is then you can't return it. Also, the colors on the website don't always match the color of the dress when you get it but they are very close. Other than that it was a great experience. I will definitely be buying from them again!

I have ordered from ModCloth for years. I am never disappointed in the quality of the items I order. I love that the models on the site are of different shapes and sizes with measurements listed. This makes It easy to get the right size ordered. If the fit isn’t right the return process is really easy.

Adorable clothes, atrocious return process.
I absolutely love all of the clothing Modcloth sell on their website. I have never been disappointed with the quality of their clothing. I have on occasion failed to order the proper size which tends to happen when you are ordering online. Which leads me to explain how annoying their return process can be. It takes forever to process your return and receive your refund. Heaven forbid you need to exchange the item for a different size. Rest assure they will more then likely be sold out, so don't bother. As long as you do not need to return Modcloth is amazing.
