I travel with Irish Ferries once per year - always good
I travel with Irish Ferries at least once a year on the Rosslare - Pembroke service. I normally travel June - August time. In all the sailings, I have never had any service or other issues. There was one instance where we needed to amend a booking and it was done over the phone with minimal issue. When we are checking in at the terminal and on arrival onboard, it is always with a smile.The cabins are always clean and the ClubClass service is good value.

Return trip from Holyhead to Dublin
Done two trips on Irish Ferries, to and from Dublin. The first trip across on the Dublin Swift was seamless and punctual. The return trip on the Swift (on 28th June) was cancelled due to bad weather, but we were rebooked on the Ulysses. There were some issues with this trip, notably very late boarding without any explanation (texted updates would have been useful). However, the gale in the Irish Sea was the logical explanation and that was given out before sailing. The sailing itself through a force 7 gale was absolutely fine as the stabilisers worked well. What was exemplary was the obviously challenging docking at Holyhead. Although a necessarily slow process, this was carried out with skill and precision. I realise the captain and crew will have been trained to deal with rough weather, but as a passenger all I can do is to pass on thanks and I will certainly use Irish Ferries again.

Ulysses is The Best! Epsilon small and cramped.
Being a nervous traveller I decided to overcome this and go home to Ireland by ferry.We went out on the Epsilon and returned on the Ulysses.Booking price and check in to port was easy and fast.Everything ran to time.Ship well staffed and friendly.Epsilon is a small ferry. It mainly caters for the lorry drivers as there were loads on it. I must say I found it quite cramped and seats were in high demand.The crossing was smooth as sea was calm.We arrived a little early.Personally I wouldn’t go on it again as I found it a bit small but that’s personal opinion.The return trip was on the mighty Ulysses.What a treat. It was huge! Same efficient service and staffing.Duty free shop was fantastic! Selection of food on board was great.Plenty of space to stroll around and pass the time pleasantly. I truly loved it and did not feel anxious at all. In fact I was a bit sad the trip was over!Thank you Irish ferries I’m planning on travelling on Ulysses again at end of summer.Highly recommend.

Easy to deal with but poorly written terms & conditions
We were due to travel in Dec 2021 but unfortunately contracted COVID-19 5 days before we were due to travel . Due to travel restrictions to and from Ireland and the UK(we were traveling Holyhead-Dublin-Holyhead on a flexifare with a car and 2 passengers) meant we could not longer travel. The terms & conditions for routes vary so check for your specific route.On their website, its not clear what the fee for cancelling with a refund will be, only that it's admin fee.I spoke with Irish Ferries customer services who confirmed the admin is £25 plus the loss of the flexi fare add on.I accepted this as I was not in any state to argue nor was it the fault of the person who was handling the call. So based on on the £333.00 we paid, we got £287.00 back. Not huge loss bur I feel since Irish Ferries can resell the booking they're not at a loss and it's not my fault I cannot travel so why are we being penalised.

Devil or deep blue sea.
I only used this company from Dublin to Holyhead because it was the quickest and there was a discount of 25%. That still meant a cost of nearly £150 ( more expensive than other short crossings ) and an admin charge.On board the free wifi did not exist and the food (fish and chips) was almost inedible, dry and tasteless.I would be very reluctant to use the company again as Stena has better wifi provision and edible food. The Stena links between Ireland and Great Britain require either too much driving to Southern England and/or have longer crossing times.Compared to crossing between England and France the Irish Seacrossings are extortionate.

Irish ferries staff are fantastic.
Irish ferries where fantastic when our new transit custom with only 198 miles on, refused to start when we tried to disembark in Dublin port. They towed us off the ferry, looked after us, changed our booking, towed us back on the next ferry to the uk supplying us with a cabin for a much needed sleep. We could not thank them enough for going the extra mile to help. A huge big thank you to irish ferries staff. Xxx

A very reasonable service.
Having read other reviews we were unsure of what to expect, however the experience was very good. This was our first Dover-Calais sailing using Irish Ferries. They were very efficient in loading and unloading. The ship itself is basic but has everything you need. The food in the restaurant was very good, although somewhat expensive. The ferry lacks the ‘luxury’ of other companies, but it more than met our needs. It was a great bonus being able to use our Tesco vouchers, meaning we paid just £5.
