I have to be truly honest here.I was looking for a pair of Smith "Bauhaus" sunglasses.No one including the Smith site themselves had the style that I wanted.I searched and found them here at Back Country.I searched their reviews and honestly was very wary and skeptical.Actually scared to send them my money.But the sale price was phenomenal....almost half of what Smith had sold them for.So I took a chance and....am very impressed.I received a pair that I had been wanting for some time exactly as BC described them.They arrived packaged very well in less than a week after I placed my order.So all said...I give them a top 5 STAR rating based on my first time dealing with them.Very happy with my transaction at BACKCOUNTRY.COM

Great customer service
I ordered a North Face backpack from Backcountry. UPS emailed that it had been delivered to my door, but it was missing. I called Backcountry (not being able to reach a live person at UPS) and was greeted with a supportive representative. She said that sometimes packages show up within a few days - that they would not be able to do anything for 48 hours. She said to call back in two days if the package had not arrived and they would overnight another backpack at no charge. Luckily my package was delivered by a neighbor a few blocks away - it had been left at the wrong address. I am super appreciative of Backcountry's support and willingness to resend a new backpack at no charge! Will definitely order from them in the future.

Not sure why all the bad reviews since…
Not sure why all the bad reviews since I just got very good service from them. I rarely do good reviews so this is an exception. I ordered a pair of cycling shoes last week and they were delivered to the wrong address. Partly my fault and partly Backcountry's fault since they have a old default address in the system I cannot change or delete. After I talked to the rep she sent me a new pair of shoes which I did not expect. That's one way to get loyal customers that others can learn from. I haven't had problems dealing with them on returns either. Good company in my book.

I had a messed up shipment a while back…
I had a messed up shipment a while back and didn't receive an item that I purchased. I was not timely in getting back to backcountry about the mishap, however, when I called customer service they were extremely kind to me and fixed my problem within a minute. Kaitlin Poulter was absolutely fantastic.

Great experience
Well i saw many bad reviews for backcountry and was little nervous when I made the order however I had great experience. I got very good North face jacket at great price and their customer service was excellent. They took off the shipping cost on just one request and I received my order in 2-3 days. I will definitely rate this site and product 5 stars based on my experience. I will definitely recommend it.

Was I just one of the lucky ones?
Like a few others I see here, I gave this website a try, despite all of the negative reviews, and it actually worked out great. Ordered some rock climbing shoes on Black Friday (or maybe Cyber Monday?) and they arrived as expected. I even ended up having to send them back because I needed a different size, and no issues there, either. They have an online chat service for customer support available 24/7, apparently, which I used, and they responded immediately and were very helpful. I sent the shoes back and got my full refund (minus shipping) and received my replacement pair just as quickly as the first. Makes me wonder how they have so many negative reviews. My experience was excellent. Strange..

Turned things around apparently...
I see all the negative reviews and that must have prompted them to turn things around... I made a purchase for a sweater and received it in 2 days. The sweater is well made and incredibly warm, my partner just preferred a different sweater as I had purchased a few before Christmas to have options. I called to place a return with customer service and was on the phone with someone in under a minute and a shipping label sent to me in the next minute. Highly recommend, if just to give some of their clothing a try if you're interested. It worked out incredibly well and I'll likely look to see what they have for clothing options in the future. Thanks for the great experience.

Perfection!I had been keeping my eye on a jacket that I planned to purchase online on black friday when it went on sale. By the time I got to the site to use my coupon, it was sold out in the color I wanted. When I searched for it on the internet, Backcountry had it in stock for the same discounted price so I grabbed it! After ordering it I panicked after reading all of the horrible reviews. I got a confirmation e-mail about my order promptly after ordering it, and it was delivered within 3-5 days as indicated. No issues at all. Hope others have the same positive experiences.

AMAZING Customer Service A+++
Had a problem with a leaking Shimano XT M8000 brakeset, and Backcountry contacted Shimano quickly and got the warranty submitted. Shimano sent them a replacement caliper and lever, but missing was the pads (the original were soaked in oil), the olive and insert (required since Shimano didn't send a complete set), and the oil, needed to get this replacement set functional. Well, Backcountry sent all those parts and more, and by next day shipping no less. This company had me back up and running in no time. I am AMAZED at this type of customer service. You cannot go wrong doing business with this retailer. I am sure glad that I did.

Just had a wonderful experience shopping with Backcountry.com! I've never been camping before and recently agreed to go on a short camping trip to Yellowstone with some friends. I called up Backcountry and they helped me get set up with a sleeping bag, tent, & sleeping pad. They were very helpful and patient with me while we went through the many options they carry. The gear worked great and was happy to enjoy my first camping trip!
