Outstanding customer care. Due to COVID-19 I had to cancel my car reservation as the plane was canceled. They did not only refund me the money (things rarely happening in COVID-19 situation - see aviation industry where no one refunds money), but they also found a way to refund me my $50 cancelation fee when I could not create an account to receive the voucher they prepared.I was truly impressed

Moral company with great staff
Professional and friendly at both Cape Town and Johannesburg. Collected a car that was exceptional at a great price. It then served me from Cape Town to Johannesburg for a 16hr drive on the final day, in an urgent situation (to escape ZA before border closures). I explained to Budget in J'burg that I had no choice but to deliver the car to the wrong location (1,500km north) and they completely understood. Waived the charge and filled the car for me at a fair price. Budget have one more happy customer and I look forward to using them again. Thank you from myself, wife and 1 year old son.

Recently I’ve had some awful experiences with Budget (Elmhurst Location/LGA) but this evening I came to the Budget on East 87th street and the associate Kenny Olatunji provided the best customer service and went above and beyond to help give me a different perspective of Budget and my recent encounters. A Very Good Car Rental Experience
I rented a car from the Budget car rental service at the airport in Madeira from 21 to 28 February 2020. I had booked the car online on the Budget website before I flew out from England. The rental office is within the airport (which makes a nice change as many so called 'on airport' companies are actually a shuttle bus ride away). The ladies on the Budget rental desk were very helpful and efficient. I had ordered a Peugeot 208 diesel but they only had a Renualt Clio diesel to offer me. No matter it was an excellent car and pulled well around the Madeira mountains plus was incredibly fuel efficient.When returning the car I found the whole process a hassle free experience. The young lady examined the vehicle, checked it was returned with a full tank of fuel and then signed it off.I had paid a very reasonable price for the car rental and no questions were asked that I had taken out my own car hire excess insurance policy for the week.Overall a great car rental experience. Massive praise to the two young ladies who staff the Budget desk at Madeira airport. I would definitely use this facility again.

We got in at Midnight to Stl/St. Louis Lambert Airport. And took the shuttle to Budget got the car after 15 minutes of waiting. Car was fine for the price. Returned it and left 3days later. Nothing Special just seemed like a pretty average company.

Car rentals at Virgin Islands worked well. However poor service at St. Croix.
Rented car at St. Croix and St. Thomas. Everything worked as agreed. However, the lady at St. Croix airport was not friendly at all. The lady at St. Thomas airport was very friendly and service orientated.

Budget car was booked through Wisecars
Budget car was booked through Wisecars. All though Wisecar's website was easy to understand and book, when you pick up the car at Budget this is where the confusion starts. Seems all rental places do this. They try to talk you out of renting the car you picked out. For so many $$$$ you can up grade. Well don't except the first up grade offer!!!. Talk them down on the "up grade price". Did that and was happy for it. Also the list of "charges" including a " $36 customer facility fee??"$3.60 energy recovery fee?" $8.34 Maintenance facility fee". The car I received wasn't maintained at all. Dirty and needed an oil change. Was getting alerts all the time for "oil maintenance"

Booked a car at budget Brussels.Customer reception personal insist that they block the security deposit on your Visa card for only 48hrs after returning the car.Truth is it takes 15 working days before deposit is unlocked.Wonder why they initially insist on 48 hrs and insist it's the bank process later.Terrible financial service.

I booked through trip.com and got 1 weeks car hire for £72 in December. I was a little dubious when reading reviews, we flew into Tenerife south airport and followed the signs given on the voucher. The lady told us stand 72 and wrote it on the form, we waited at stand 72 and saw the shuttle bus go past? I went back to the desk and she said stand 2. After a twenty minute wait for the bus and another 5 minute drive to the office Avis/Budget. I was in and out within 10 minutes I wanted a VW POLO but got a HYUNDAI i10 lovely car no marks on it a blue colour instead of the usual white. No hassle about extra insurance I had purchased CDW insurance in th UK before hand but they did not ask. A week travelling around lovely car to drive used around half a tank of fuel, filled up on way back to airport. hand over 5 minutes didn't even check the car, on the bus and away. The credit card deposit was never taken it was pending till around three days then no charge. Overall great experience.

Awful experience they sent me out with all season tires with very little tread on snow and then told me I would have to pay to have the car towed back and a new one towed to me if I wanted to exchange it out or just don't drive it on snow which is the stupidest suggestion ever when I rented a car to drive. I also unfortunately locked my keys in the car and called roadside assistance who assured me it would only be $60 for them to send somebody out to pop the lock I had told them I could get somebody to do it for 80 in the town I was in but they assured me the $60 would be the total cost so imagine my surprise when my credit card was billed $185 a week after turning in my rental. I called budget and they said the best they could do was refund me $50 admin fee...which was never mentioned in the phone call to roadside assistance and basically sorry about my luck.

A few minor things but overall pretty good
We rented two cars from Budget during our trip to New York. The process went very smooth and the rent was cheap. We were actually supposed to rent the second car from Dollar, but got denied and experienced some horrific customer service there. So we went over to Budget and got a car right away! The only bad things worth mentioning is that the first car was not properly cleaned on the inside, and that we encountered a really grumpy guy at the parking lot while delivering the last car. Still, budget took our complaints seriously.

Budget was great for me.
I see there are a lot of negative review though my experience with budget car rental was great. I traveled to Richmond VT and online days before. I chose a standard size car (Volkswagen Jetta) it was clean and in great condition. The Customer service was polite and understanding. When retrieving the car from the garage there was a huge line of people who did not pre-order. You could feel how frustrated the other customers were. After waiting a few minutes I too began feeling frustrated until the woman at the service desk requested for all pre-orders to come forward and retrieve there car. You could tell that angered the other customer but she great job explaining why there was a hold up, why we would skipping the line, and assured everyone would be on there way soon.

Budget Car Rental - Faro Airport
We rented a car from Budget at Faro Airport in August 2019, the price was good and from an international rental company. On arriving at the airport we went to pick up the car and had no problem with the service which was quick and efficient, we had arranged my own excess insurance cover so when asked about additional cover we declined and no hard sale was attempted, signed the agreement and 1500 euro hold deposit against my credit and was handed the keys, no rep came with us to check over the car. The car was an Opel Crossland and ideal size for what we required (4 adults, 4 cabin size suitcases), there were a few marks on the body work and alloy wheels, therefore, and we took a full close up video of the car both externally and internally for re-assurance. Had no issues with the car at all during the rental period and returned it as planned having filled the fuel tank on route back close to the airport, we took more videos of the car and also photo’d the fuel level with fuel receipt and the mileage, then proceed to drop the keys at the office and off we went to catch our flight home…easy and I thought what a great service.Fast forward 1 week, I received an email from budget.co.uk charging me 500 euro for damage with attached photos to the nearside front wheel and arch! Luckily for me we had the video and photos and therefore was able to email them back denying their claim and attaching our photos / video we had taken prior to the rental which clearly showed the marks were there before we drove off. A few days later we received an email back stating that this was a mistake and no charges were due. Don’t be put off by the above, just be warned, spend a bit of time taking photos / video before driving off as it could save you a lot of grief further down the line.

Good, reliable company
I prebooked a small vehicle rental in Berlin, August of thus year. The person assisting us at the counter gave us an upgrade, without any additional charge. The car was awsome and I had absolutelly no problem with it. We have returned the car outside of opening hours, however, they were honest and professional, and my deposit was returned correctly on the credit card.I used to rent from them on a byweekly basis as well, for work, for almost five months, and I always had the same impecable service. Highly recommended company to deal with!People tend to write reviews mostly following a bad experience, out of frustration or hoping for a helpful outcome, however, after being burnt by another car rental company, I realize that it might be helpful to post a favourable review as well, when it is due, to help others make an informed decision.
