Wow, 5 stars, outstanding customer service!

Wow, Norwegian deserves every star. Due to Coronavirus, I had to cancel my cruise. The customer service was excellent. No waiting on the line, no problems, no argument, just a 100% Credit. I have been on Norwegian cruises for the past three years and would not consider changing to another cruise line. If They would only stop smoking onboard, they’d deserve a +.

Excellent experience despite cancelled cruise

In October 2019 we booked a 3 week fly-cruise to the Indian Ocean via NCL cruise consultant Renzo. The cruise was set to sail from Singapore on 27th Feb 2020. Sadly due to the Covid19 crisis it was cancelled a week before we were due to fly out to Singapore. NCL provided a full refund (including the cost of upgraded flights) which we received within 2 weeks, we have also been offered 25% off a future cruise as a goodwill gesture. I have never been on an ocean cruise and this was our first experience of NCL. I am very impressed and would book again when things calm down and the crisis has passed. I will contact Renzo next time as he was more than helpful at every stage. Disappointed to miss out on our trip but that isn't down to NCL.

We decided to try NCL even though we were happy with other cruise lines. First, we waited in line for 4 1/2 hours to board the ship. The staff stated if was due to a late arrival. We were not greeted by staff and never did the safety protocol. The food is fair in the buffet and main dining room. The speciality restaurants were good. The entertainment is fair. I thought the staff were not very friendly but not rude either. Just neutral on that. I think other cruise lines are better. NCL needs to take these reviews seriously and make changes. No more NCL for us

Have cruised on NCL 8 times and never have been disappointed.They do have issues like anyone else sometimes and you can't go ashore due to weather ETC but better safe than sorry. The food in the specialty restaurant's could be better. We always book a mini suite on the spa level so its nice and quiet. Looking forward to cruising Europe in May.

Had my vow renewal on the Dawn out of NYC to Bermuda in November 2019. We had 40+ people with us and NCL went above and beyond, providing the best possible venues and additional services to make sure everything was perfect. It was the wedding we didn't have. Absolutely amazing! From all of the restaurants, to the entertainment on board (including the martini and Marguerita tastings). All of my family members in attendance will definitely cruise Norwegian again. (Oh! It rained and we still had a BLAST)!

Well, Norwegian isn't what we thought it would be. The ship was very nice, but considering other things it didn't make our list of wanting to sail again with Norwegian. We did a 7 day Western Caribbean from New Orleans for the Thanksgiving week. It was 5 of us... my parents had a balcony room and three of us in another balcony room. The service we were expecting wasn't that great. We normally cruise Carnival and I must say, I think we are going to stick with Carnival in the future. Our steward service was just ok. The staff friendliness was just ok as well. We found a lot of staff members that were flat out rude and just not friendly.The one thing that my parents liked, was not having to dress for dinner and being able to eat anytime. The buffet was open almostly all of the time, but we found a lot of the time half of the buffet would be roped off for one reason or another. We are late sleepers so we never made it to breakfast. The menu for room service wasn't that great and you had to pay $7.95, which I guess wasn't so bad.We paid for the internet upgrade which was horrible all of the time. My daughter had a hard time completing her school work assignments. We had to stand in this long line a couple of time to get help with the internet service.We did the upgrade for the drink package, which was just ok. We also had free drinks in the casino because we are VIP players at the Eldorado, but if we were drinking outside of there we had to pay for water. The sodas were terrible all of the time. We started asking for the can from the casino in order to get a good soda. The fountain drink selection wasn't that great and the taste was terrible.. The food was so so. We paid for the upgrade to the steakhouse, which was good, but the service wasn't so great.The port stops were awful. One port didn't have room for our ship to doc so they had to transport us to and from in the small boats, which was hot smelly and took forever transporting us to and from.Another port that we thought we would be able to see something other than a few booth, we couldn't see because there were not taxi's or excursion after 12 noon, which we were not told.Then Costa Maya, we got off the ship to do a ATV excursion and was told to come back in an hour, which we did and to our surprised we were told that our excursion had been cancelled because of the roads being closed and it was too late to try and do anything else. All of the ports were disappointing to say the less.I think Norwegian need to go back to the drawing board.

We love NCL

We’ve been on the big ships to Hawaii and Alaska now we’re embarking on the smallest of the fleet. Have cruised NCL and love it. Great service amazing staff every cruise . Can’t wait to leave next week.

Poor customer service

We took a cruise on the Norwegian Sun to Key West and Cuba in June 2018. We had a great time on the cruise, however, there were some issues which I brought to the attention of Norwegian: (1) misinformation about bottled water taken ashore, (2) misinformation about customs duty regarding the purchase of Cuban rum, and (3) the loss of purchased Cuban rum. I sent a letter to the president of Norwegian Cruise Lines soon after the conclusion of the cruise, followed by three emails to their Customer Service department to explain these issues in detail. As of this date, five months after the cruise, I have not received any type of response from either the president or customer service. To me, that indicates that passengers are not taken seriously. Poor customer service.

NCL first cruise on Norweigan Star was wonderful

We chose NCL and the Norweigan Star based on reviews, so hope our review helps others choose. This was our first cruise for my 60th and we had high expectations. The embarkation was not too bad, bit of queuing involved which was to be expected but once we had our freestyle card we boarded the ship straight away. Everyone was friendly and greeted us and this continued throughout the voyage. Our luggage was in our room just before we sailed. We had chosen a balcony cabin and which was compact but had everything including a small sofa and the balcony was a good size for 2 people. The bed a very good size and comfortable. The shower and toilet were good, my partner is 6ft 2" and he managed OK in the space available. The room was cleaned at least once a day in the morning and tidied again late afternoon by Arta who was friendly and cheerful, loved the towel animals. The Star may be one of the older ships but it was not obvious, maintenance was ongoing and painting took place in areas during the voyage but this did not affect guests if they noted the signs, The lit up Atrium looked wonderful and was everything we had hoped. We only used the complimentary food areas and these were all good, the Versaille was a lovely place to eat the waiting staff very attentive and friendly, the food was wonderful. The Garden cafe was busy but had plenty of selection, all cooked well, which pleased my partner who likes good size portions, and you could take your plate out back to the H20 bar to eat which was quieter if you wished. It didn't open 24 hours as stated but O'Sheehans did so there was always somewhere to get food.We had the inclusive package with drink and beverages and didn't need to spend anything on food and drink the whole cruise which was brilliant and gave me chance to try the different cocktails. OK time for the negatives, which were minimal, the tendering system for shore excursions was not very well monitored. Queuing started very early and some passengers took 20 or more tickets which meant waiting for later boats. This would have been acceptable except those with later or no tickets were allowed to get on earlier boats if they turned up which was annoying when my partner had queued from 7.45am for the 8.30am allocation start time. Secondly even though it was stated often over the speaker to not reserve sunbeds, many guests laid out towels on the beds early in the morning, one women was seen pegging out 12 towels, and then did not use the beds until later in the day - this i felt was selfish and unfair. There were enough beds on the ship for passengers but you had to walk around to hunt them down. That's it negatives over.Small details that made a huge impact were things like cold drinks and cold face towels when you returned to the port after a shore visit before you got back on the ship or tender boat. These were most welcome and thoroughly needed. Staff in all areas were friendly, greeted you each time, worked extremely hard and the 'washie washie' girls and boys made you smile each time they offered their service, hygiene was very good.The entertainment was good and non-stop and the theatre shows were very good, they all looked and sounded good and the costumes were wonderful. There were food theme nights in the Garden cafe and themed music in the Bliss room as well as games and competitions. Something for everyone.The disembarkation was good and times given based on your flight time, we were one of the last groups off and made the airport in plenty of time, although the coach does have to park quite a way from the terminal but this was not NCL's fault, they had plenty of staff directing passengers.Overall it was a fantastic first cruise and we will definitely be sailing with NCL again as soon as we can save up. The price may have seemed high but the value for money was good when you consider that everything you needed was included. NCL Gem such a pity

NCL Gem such a pity , i am gonna meet them half way on this , I did complain about the constant shouting and screaming in the morning hours and to their credit they did move us but i should of not needed to be moved and even though we was moved the noise continued and i was told it is a big ship and they could not keep everyone quite , The Man who let us down was the Head of Security who shook my hand and promised he would deal with it and he failed to do so, please remember if you shake someones hand it should mean you word is your bond so try not to lie.
