The staff are hugely under paid
Flagship store. The staff are hugely under paid. They work so hard in freezing conditions because the building has no heating and the doors are constantly opening and closing, they are earning 10p an hour above the basic rate even after 12 years of service. you people should be ashamed. better conditions and better pay for the hard workers who deserve it would reap rewards. speculate to accumulate.

Can’t fault them
I have a project going. Full house renovation. Went to WARRINGTON depot. I seriously can not fault them. Had doors, skirting, windows, kitchen with appliances, shower and unit. Coving , boiler. All delivered on time. Took it all in and put in different rooms where I needed it. Fencing coming next week. Had a fantastic deal. I do a lot of home work and they beat everyone. Designed the kitchen for me and the customer service was exceptional.Well done Warrington. Really can’t fault you.

A Story of Remarkable Redemption – and a Complete Change of Opinion
I am a “true believer” in consumer reviews. Both in terms of being guided by the experience of others when making choices about new products and new service providers, and in terms of sharing my own experiences, with the hope I might guide others. My preference is to express words of praise for the excellent and the remarkable – as too often, reviews only reflect experiences which were disappointing or products which did not live up to expectations.But when if I have had a disappointing experience, I will take the time to share that experience in a review. I do this for two reasons. First, to let others know of my experience, so that they can be alert to what they might expect, or let them make the choice of looking elsewhere. My second reason is to let the service provider or manufacturer know that I was disappointed and why, with the hope that they might be made aware of a situation that they didn’t know about, or a problem that others had not brought to their attention.Admittedly, that hope is a faint one, and it is seldom realised. But when it is, I have an obligation to understand that the review I wrote is no longer complete as a result. And I have a responsibility to finish what I I felt when writing the original review has not been completed.It is that responsibility which I am fulfilling as a result of the impressive and thoughtful response I received to my review of Selco, Old Kent Road.Shortly after posting my review I received an email from the Customer Service Team at Selco assuring me that my complaint would be taken “very seriously” and thanking me for bringing the matter to their attention. I was told to expect further contact from an appropriate company representative. My reaction to this was “that’s nice, but we’ll see” as my experience has been that I should not get my hopes up that anything further will actually happen.Selco impressively and very pleasantly proved me wrong.The shop floor manager of the Old Kent Road location promptly and diligently made contact with me by phone and email, and when my response to him was delayed as a result of family visitors, he gently but efficiently reminded me that he wanted to discuss my experience at his store. I was impressed because this showed me that the company was truly interested in finding out why I had been disappointed. Their efforts were far from perfunctory.When I did get the chance to speak with the branch manager, his approach and tone put me at ease immediately and if I had been concerned that I would have to “fight my corner” to defend my opinion, I need not have been. In the face of a review such as the one I had left, the company response could be expected to be defensive or focused on justifying their actions. Instead, his questions were interested and concerned and it was clear that it was important that I might not return as a customer again. They wanted to make the situation right.I’m pleased that this was the result of our conversation. As I said in both my review and during our call, the store is impressive, organised and clean, I had been enjoying the experience of being a customer, until the issue of poor service arose to spoil that experience. But now, and as a result of the interest and concern that was quite genuinely expressed, I can with confidence recommend to others that Selco is a company which is not just concerned about appearance and how things look to their customers. It’s not just how they look. It’s how they act as well. And for that they deserve applause and words of praise, both of which I am thrilled to provide.To both Selco and the floor manager of the Old Kent Road location, Bravo! Job well done! ***********************************Original review: Without question, the worst customer service I have experienced, not just in the building supply and DIY sector, but in all commercial and retail businesses where there are employees whose job it is to help customers by answering questions and providing assistance. While the store itself is impressive and the line of good and products it sells quite broad, god help you if you can't find what you're looking for and try to seek help. Getting the entirely indifferent staff to break away from their personal conversations with each other was challenging, and pointless, as my enquiry about where an item might be found was not helpfully answered as I was told to "just go over there and look" despite having already done so thoroughly myself and told them that.After giving up on ever receiving useful assistance and while preparing to leave I was summoned back to the enquiry desk with a loudly shouted "hey you, hey mister" only to be told that if I couldn't find it, she guessed they probably didn't sell it. On then checking out with the one small item I had been able to find I was hilariously and over optimistically asked at the check out if I would like to open an account. I assured the earnest you man who was working reasonably hard (at least in comparison) that I would have no need for an account as I had no intention of ever returning to the store if I could help it as I considered my first and last visit to Selco to have been such an unpleasant experience I never wanted to repeat it again.The management of this store should be shocked by the conduct of the employees, embarrassed by the appallingly poor customer service that is provided and along with the entire staff of the store be retrained, or trained for the first time in how to provide a better customer experience, as I can't imagine how I could have had a worse one.

Just had a delivery from the Tyseley Branch. Lee the driver gave a 5 star service. He was friendly, polite and couldn't do enough to help me with the boards. Will definitely be using Selco delivery again.

Great customer service and fast delivery
We ordered a bathroom from Victoria Plum and got messed about for weeks and eventually told our bathroom wouldn't be delivered until after Christmas when we ordered way in advance. We decided to cancel our order with them and told them to shove it basically. Went into Leeds Selco and asked about their bathrooms a lovely man called Steve helped us for over an hour picking our bathroom, walking us around the warehouse to look at stock we could take there and then. We got a full bathroom suite, shower and towel radiator for £700. They delivered it on a Sunday for us as we work all week! Perfect customer service from start to end. Made our Christmas. We will now have our bathroom ready within weeks. DO NOT ever buy from Victoria Plum. Thank you to Selco for everything. Merry Christmas
