Anyone would think we're in the middle of a Pandemic!!!

I placed an order with Gardening Express on the 8th April. At the time of placing my order the website clearly stated it would take around 15 working days for shipment. A couple of weeks later I received a generic email update saying it might take a little longer because they were very busy, they were having to recruit and most importantly effectively manage the health and well being of their existing and new staff members. They said they were focused on shipping and that they weren't responding to email queries as effectively as they would in normal times. Fair enough I thought, sounds like they've got their hands full and are trying the best they can, I'll wait.Today all my plants arrived, perfectly packaged, in excellent condition and with a complimentary orchid to boot as a thank you for our patience. Thank you Gardening Express. You can't please everyone! But we're really happy with our plants and perfectly understand the delay. Stay Safe.

My plants arrived today and im really pleased with what I ordered. The plants arrived well packaged and are in good condition. I would purchase from here again. I'm usually a savvy shopper and always shop around and check reviews before purchasing items. So, lll be honest I was apprehensive about my order as I saw all the reviews after I had placed my order. All of which stated item not arrived/disappointed. When I placed my order, I understood there would be a wait for my order to arrive in the current circumstances so I accepted that I'd have to wait. I do agree with some of the other reviews that an email/social media update could have been posted sooner to reassure customers. However, it did say on the website there would be a delay with orders placed.Im not trying to disregard anyone's feelings about wait times on their order, as I know how frustrating it can be, but this is a testing time for everyone. Especially smaller businesses. Everyone is learning how to deal with skeleton staff teams or dealing with extra demand for items (like plants) in the midst of garden centres being closed. Hopefully gardening express will take on the feedback and consider the need for improved communication. I hope that those of you waiting for orders will receive them soon and will also be pleased, despite the long wait. This is testing for everyone. Let's try and be kind.

Better late than never!

Like many others on here, I ordered my plants on the 6th April, waited 15 working days before raising a ticket to ask where my goods were to get an automated response saying they weren’t actioning tickets, so there was no phone number, no chat and my ticket got closed automatically. The website said they were sending out updates every 5 days - this was not true either. I put it down to bad experience and expected nothing. On the 6th May I got an email saying they were being sent to a courier and on the 8th May they arrived. Everything I ordered was there and packaged really well. And they are now planted in the garden. I have given 3 stars for the product and knocked off 2 for the customer service and lack of communication (shocking)...all I can say if you are waiting they may still arrive but as an “online” shop which should live and die by its communications it’s awful. It a a shame but if they had just sent me an email every now and again saying “we haven’t forgot about you” I would have been happy to wait and given a better review and may have been tempted to shop there again but that will never happen.

This is my second review

This is my second review, in the interest of fairness. My first review gave only one star due to the complete lack of communication from GE which has since improved. My plants were ordered on 07 April and finally arrived today, well packed and in good condition. I am aware that some customers are still waiting and there are reports of plants arriving in a poor state but I can only review based on my personal experience. I do hope Gardening Express manages to weather this storm and that any unhappy customers are treated fairly.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that I think communication could have been better. Good qualiy plants and well packaged/protected for delivery.

I know there have recently been a lot…

I know there have recently been a lot of bad reviews about this companny and I was of the same opinion. However after ordering plants on 7 April I have finally received them today and they were in pretty good condition. Was just that one of them was already in full flower and as this was a spring flowering plant it probably wont last long. The other 5 plants were fine. The only thing I would say to this company is keep in touch with your clients by sending weekly updates. I had actually given up on receiving mine so if you dont want bad reviews then keep your customers up to date instead of ignoring their messages.

Having read lots of other reviews I was worried I'd made a massive mistake but my sister's birthday present ordered on 13th April arrived today in rather battered wrapping but a fine specimen in lovely condition so thank you.
