Dear Odeon, I miss you.

Dear Odeon (Especially the one in Brighton),I miss you. I miss going to the cinema whenever I had the chance in the Before Times. I'm a Limitless card holder and I get my money's worth. Full disclosure: I go often enough that I have a favourite seat in a favourite screen. The staff at my local one (Brighton) have always been helpful, they work hard and I have zero complaints. The concessions are too expensive, but they are in EVERY cinema chain (and I'm allergic to popcorn so I don't mind so much). The app works well and hasn't crashed on me yet. Midnight showings, or Double Bills are always so great - special mentions to the Avengers: Endgame Double Bill, and the IT chapters 1 and 2 Double Bill (both excellent value for money). I do wish you'd have more subtitled screeings for the hard of hearing though; my lovely friend Emma is deaf and can't come to many movies with me because of this. So yes, I miss you. I do, however, appreciate that closing during this Pandemic was the right and sensible thing to do (Did you furlough your staff? I do hope so, please don't break my heart), and suspending our Limitless Direct Debits was the right and decent thing to do.I look forward to the time when you're able to open safely again. The End.

Need staff in the screen rooms to stop noisy people.

Staff is good and the food is good. But I do have one thing that I really want the cinema to improve on. Before the lockdown I visited the cinema three different times, and all three suffered the same problem. There were no staff members in the theatre to keep people from talking throughout the movie. Now when I was a kid I remember there use to be a guy or girl that would stand at the back on the screen room and would keep watch to make sure no one had their phones out or were disturbing other customers, yet I have not seen this for a few years now. Now these loud people are happening more frequent and after seeing the Invisible Man, I am put off ever coming back because their is no control to stop loud customers.Odeon, please make some changes, and have a staff member with us in the screen room. I am sick of having to shout to tell people to be quiet.

Absolutely love this cinema

Absolutely love this cinema. Especially the one in Edinburgh West.Nice, new and clean, comfy seats and wicked nachos.Plus the staff is amazing. We went to watch a movie (Bohemian rhapsody) with my son who is the biggest Queen fan. He had a rough day and I mentioned to one member of staff that the movie is a surprise for him. Later on, he came in with free "surprise" muffin just for my boy. I didn't expect it and it really made our day much better

Coronavirus closure

Having popped into my local cinema for a coffee and chat with the staff of which many have become people who I can pass the time chatting about a film, was happy to know Odeon had put into place very responsible measures to keep people as safe as we can be, yet being able to keep some sense of normality going, so it was sad to know that by Tuesday they had decided to close. As someone who has worked in the cinema business all my life, am only hoping it can survive the closure. I understand the limitless card payment has been suspended and any refunds will be made, for me, I would have willingly continued to pay my monthly subscription to try and help the business during its closure, in hope they would keep their staff and with a salary. Best of luck to everyone at Odeon and especially the lovely guys at the metrocentre site.

Loved the new seats

Went to watch bad boys 3 in leicester Freeman commons. Was very surprised they had renovated the whole place. Loved the new recliner seats.

Liverpool One, server called Martin (I think)

Young man called Martin I think, was more than helpful at the Liverpool One cinema! He was a brilliant help, and a lovely server. Should definitely be recognised for being great at his job!

Odeon Haymarket

Excellent experience at Odeon Luxe, Haymarket (London). Forgot my brollie after the film, but the next day having enquired, it was safely stored in lost and found.

Odeon Aylesbury

Odeon Aylesbury are in the process of upgrading to Luxe.I understand that, but...At the moment, the building work going on is reducing the space in the foyer by more than half. And talking as a claustrophobe, it's not pleasant. And the toilets, I understand they are temporary, but they are disgusting.I know this is all temporary, and I know it'll be sorted soon, but right now, I don't want to go back in.

Had a really good experience at the Newark odeon last week. I thought I’d lost my bank card in the cinema and they helped me look for it!

Odeon Metrocentre

This review refers to the Odeon Metrocentre only and firstly id like to say it has some of the nicest people working at the site and a credit to their management but I think the management fails the place. Having worked in cinemas all my life in every job role, find that the problems that constantly occur are down to them. A small issue is, even though every cinema in this region has updated their program to including the following weeks films which including 3 other ODEON’s in the region, metrocentre still hasn’t. Last week when I went to see a film, a member of staff on ticket checks noticed a problem with volume levels in one of the screens and she reported this to a member of the team in a supervisor role who clearly should know about projection issues, which tends to lead from cues being set wrong for the program running yet I listened to them and the resolve was to close the cinema doors earlier than the time the set program would automatically close them leaving anyone inside to suffer. As I’m someone who goes to this cinema 2-3 times a week, sadly find such issues aren’t isolated and a lot more regular than they should be. This is the flagship cinema of the north east of England and meets that status in every way except for issues that’s only controlled by operatives in a supervisor/managers role which results in lighting issues as well which is all due to the programs cues not being set correctly. It would be lovely to go and find the programs running with no problems.

Double booked seats

Had a difficulty with our seats being double booked. We were already seated (11of us for a Christmas treat) and when the people who were double booked on our seats arrived, they went to get a manager. He arrived and explained the seats were double booked so as we are a good natured, easy going family we offered to leave the seats we were already sat in, and go to a different screening of the same film. However, I felt that the people we vacated the seats for just sat down and said nothing, obviously believing we were in the wrong when we actually had correct tickets too. It just really infuriated me that we looked bad when we were really being the good guys. Odeon - make sure that does not happen to anyone else.
