Print on demand is tricky, but they make a decent product.
I see a lot of people in these reviews complaining about the quality of the fabric or the colors not being as expected. I order a fair bit of print-on-demand products and have a few suggestions:Before dropping lots of cash on yards of fabric, check out the swatch set they offer that has the same simple test image printed on all their materials. It is inexpensive and you can get a good idea of which fabric would be most appropriate for your project.(Most print-on-demand fabric printers offer something like this.)And before placing a big order, get swatches in the desired material to make sure the color is what you like. If you want to proof more than one or two designs, order a "fill-a-yard" instead of the swatches. It's sort of like a printed patchwork quilt and you can sample up to around 30-40 patterns for the cost of a single yard vs. $5 each for regular swatches. It's cheaper and there's nothing to say you can't fill it up mostly with one pattern you know you'll want and use a strip on the end for prints you're not sure about.Their print quality is generally good, though I've had some color issues every now and then that were solved with a tweak to the file.I can't speak for the shipping issues as I am in the US and always opt for economy shipping because I'm not usually in a rush.I'd usually give them 4 stars because they're good but can use improvement in a few areas, but feel like I should counterbalance some of the more unfair 1-star ratings.

Customer service at its finest
I was on a time crunch for a project and after 13 days I was worried when I hadn’t received a shipping notification email. I emailed the contact us email and they got back to me in a timely matter. They said there was a delay but they bumped it to the top of the que and promised it would be shipped out by the end of the day. On top of that even, they boosted my shipping to fast shipping and I got it the next day! So impressed with the customer service and my fabric is awesome too. Thanks spoonflower!

Great service and product
I've had printed fabric samples made by Spoonflower from my photos twice, once a few years ago and again just recently. Both times, I received prompt, quality service and product. This most recent time, I had trouble completing the purchase online. A rep. helped me over the weekend, including on a Sunday. The advice worked. I don't know what others have experienced or what services and products they've purchased, but my experiences have been nothing but good so I felt I needed to add that to the reviews.

Organic knit- thumbs up, Petal Signature Cotton - thumbs down
I ordered 2 fat quarters of Organic Cotton knit to make baby leggings. Spoonflower has an easy tutorial on how to make them. The leggings turned out great, and I love the knit fabric.I also ordered Petal Signature Cotton (fat quarters). The fabric felt very stiff upon receipt of order. I would think the name, "Petal" is indicative of softness (?). I followed the instructions to wash the fabric first, then dry at low temp. I ironed on wrong side (non-printed side) of fabric, and fabric is still very stiff. I was going to make a pair of shorts for daughter. Not sure how comfortable they'll be. :/Thankfully I placed the order when the fat quarters were on sale for 50% off. Still. :(

Not so easy to get decals right
I spent several hours on the website uploading and editing images with the somewhat crude editing tools provided by the site. I even ordered a test sample for $5 to make sure I got my colors correct. However in the end, since I needed my decals centered to get a single, large, image, and the preview of the image doesn't call out how large the white borders really are compared to your actual image size, I got 23" images rather than 30" images. So, it's not really easy to get your images right without help from emailing the help alias. However, after failing at doing the images myself, the staff responded to my request to re-do the images an jumped right in and helped me make a new set. I can't comment on the quality of the actual decal yet, how well it adheres. But, the materials seemed thick enough that they'd be durable and won't tear while trimming and positioning on the wall. Overall, I think this company has a great idea, good product and with some support intervention will turn out to be a worthwhile way to finish my kid's bedroom decorating project.

I literally have never had a problem…
I literally have never had a problem with Spoonflower. I've spent probably $600 on fabric and I love everything I have received. I am not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but personally don't have anything against them. I recommend Modern Jersey and Performance pique! Those are my go to fabrics.

Awesome Customer Service
FedEx had trouble finding my office (even though I called them 10 times to try and meet them to pick up the package) and so my fabric was redelivered to Spoonflower. I emailed them and they got back to me quickly and overnighted the shipment to me at no charge. Great customer service!!!! Also the fabric turned out amazing, thanks Spoonflower!

PHEW...
The reviews really had me worried after dropping £65 on my purchase of fabric . Spoonflower has performed as I expected even forwarding my purchase from the USA to their European base in Berlin where I was able to save on both customs charges & shipping to the UK . I opted for their Kona Cotton which is up to spec & has laundered on a cool gentle handwash cycle (front loading machine ) with very little loss of colour . I would recommend & use them again .

You Get What You Get
I've ordered lots of fabrics from Spoonflower over the years and been delighted with it. In my most recent order, I received the wrong fabric -- it should have been pique and was in fact jersey. After half a dozen emails back and forth, they asked me for photos and then asked me to return the fabric. I did so. They then emailed to say that the code on the fabric was correct and they would not fix the problem. I paid for the fabric of course and for the shipping back to Spoonflower, but they refused to fix the problem. They offered to issue a refund so I could order the fabric again in hopes of getting the right material. Of course, I would have to pay shipping again. I have to admit that I was also offended at being told over and over that fabric is not returnable. I was not attempting to return a product, but simply to have their error corrected.Will this keep me from ordering from Spoonflower again? Probably not. But it's information you should have. If they make a mistake, Spoonflower will not fix it. Don't put in the time and expense of asking them to do so.

Great printing, colours and customer service
I was very happy with my order of floral print chiffon. I did spend a lot of time going through designs to make sure I ordered the right ones for me. I had the order express shipped internationally. Spoonflower didn’t include my phone number with the package so fedex couldn’t reach me get the customs fees paid. The package ended up being a couple weeks late and spoonflower gave me a refund for shipping costs. Their customer service was quick and helpful with this issue. Upon receiving the fabrics, I was beyond happy with the quality and crispness of the print and the vibrant colours. The fabrics are a little expensive but if your looking for something particular it’s worth it. I’ll be making bridesmaids dresses from the fabric.
