Awesome follow up to a "Terrible" start

One week ago I had submitted a review titled "Terrible" after a rather complete breakdown of their sales process and their inability to reach a real person in customer service (by the way, all of money ended up being promptly returned). Stubhub responded to my review and asked that I email them with details, which I did. Well within hours on the same day, I received a call from a representative that was nothing short of extraordinary. Now I had mentioned in my review that the last lady I reached was very polite and professional while she tried to be as helpful as possible but was still unable to answer "What happened". Well the young lady who called me was incredibly apologetic, very professional and friendly and she did something rare, she did not just apologize and want to make things right, she "Owned" the fact that in the case of what happened with me, there was a system breakdown that would be looked at by their IT team and a process breakdown that their corporate members who can make the decisions on how they operate their customer service department would look at. Will everything get fixed for the future, I don't know but I do know now that they have been made aware of an issue and at least made a huge step in trying to evaluate and fix their process. Had this process worked as I had talked about with her, most of this mess could have easily been avoided and she was very up front in admitting that to me. I more than understand that things can go wrong/happen but how those things are handled by a company when they do happen says a lot about a company to me. In my case they owned it and appear to genuinely want to fix it and make it better to avoid it happening again and for that, I can respect their follow up efforts with me. So while my original review of "Terrible" holds true to as what happened, they have shown me enough in the way actually wanting to make things right that I am not ruling out giving them a second chance as I do have an increase in confidence regarding them wanting to do the right thing which to me starts with making it easier to reach a real person without needing nuclear launch codes to make that happen! Bottom line is that while I unfortunately had an A-Z process (purchase) disaster, the last customer service lady I got was great and the companies follow up to me and their higher up representative was amazingly professional, friendly and understanding while at no time deflecting any blame on their part and for that, they earned another shot from me. Refund not issued after 30 day guarantee, false contact information on the website

Update: Refund received. ------The artist canceled an event that I bought tickets to. StubHub said they would refund the payment within 30 days. It has been more than 30 days, and I have not received any payment. This was a $1,000 purchase. As someone who has bought and sold tickets on this site, I am now hesitant to use it. ALSO, StubHub provides no way to contact customer support as their phone number is only reserved for those with events happening imminently. The User Agreement provides an email address called "commentsrequests" at stubhub.com but it is not valid.

StubHub is Nothing But Scammers!!!- Updated with Resolution

Update 12/27/21Stubhub contacted me and gave me a refund so that I was not out any additional money for the debacle. The credit got me to where I paid what I agreed to pay initially. I changed the rating from 1 star to 3 stars because I do not believe I should have had to go through the hassle that I did to get that refund and just get back to even. But, credit must be given where due and they did get me back to whole.Original Post:I placed some tickets to the World Series for sale because we thought that we purchased the wrong date, but we then figured out that we did not make a mistake so we deleted the listing for the sale of the tickets the same afternoon. It disappeared from my via on the website after I confirmed deletion. The next morning, I got an email saying they sold my tickets! I called and the only resolution that they offered me was to cancel the sale where I would have to pay them a penalty of the full price of the tickets ($7,000+). They offered a $100 credit towards a future purchase as a sorry and refused to waive their fees for when I had to purchase new tickets to replace the ones they sold, which was a pure insult.They added that they would research the issue and if they found that their system made a mistake, then they would refund the penalty, but if they did not find a mistake, they would keep my $7000+ penalty. So I was the only one taking any risk. They refused to take any responsibility for the mistake. WHAT A JOKE!I ended up losing money on the ticket sale and having to buy new tickets at a higher price. All in all, this cost me an additional $1,800. They were suppose to research the issue and call me & email me back within 2-3 days. I never got any update and had to call them 14 days later for an update. I was told that the research into the issue was "found that the listing was never deleted". I had to sit on hold for over 25 minutes to just get this update.Come to find out, Stubhub was updating their website while I was buying, selling and deleting my for sale listing of the tickets. They still refuse to take any responsibility for the action and are essentially telling me it is my loss.

Tragic that this is the highest rating

For the most part I have found StubHub tickets to be legitimate. I bought tickets and they were sent to me within a day even though the events were months away. HOWEVER they will charge you SO MANY FEES and the prices therefore end up so inflated it’s not even funny. Obviously I knew I couldn’t just cancel the order for these tickets since the original seller got the money for them and sent them to me. So I tried to resell them on SH. I bought 2 for $1400. In order to make that money back after seller fees, I had to list them for $2200 only to break even! On top of that, buyers pay huge fees as well. Stubhub is making a killing for only hosting a website, because based on the other reviews their guarantees and support aren’t great. I highly recommend buying & selling privately or on social media. There isn’t as much of a guarantee, but there are ways to protect yourself such as using paypal goods & services. Search “how to avoid ticket scammers” on twitter to avoid scams. Honestly I’ve been going through social media instead and it’s been fine. Lost $500 thanks to stubhub so I’d rather take my chances elsewhere.

***UPDATE 9/14/2021***While I still believe their phone customer service is in need of serious help, their online help was stellar. I was contacted by Stubhub after posting this review and given a full refund. If I had been able to write someone about this issue to begin with, prior to the concert coming and passing, this may have been a different review altogether. I placed an order (556989537) for Luke Combs tickets in Kidd Brewer Stadium, Boone, NC. I placed this order in March 2021. Later, the concert was postponed to September 4th yet, I never received an email to collect the tickets. I called twice in the two weeks leading up to the concert and spent more than three hours on the phone each time and got no resolution. I was assured both times that the problem was being passed onto the next tier to be worked and that I would hear back from someone.That never happened. The day of the concert came and went and no help from Stubhub, no calls, no tickets. So, I'm out over $600 now because of a failure on Stubhub's part to handle their problem calls seriously. I am highly disappointed that such a used business has such terrible customer service and a complete lack of care for their customers. I will not be using Stubhub in the future and I will do my best to ensure that no one I know uses them, either.

Generous Refund

I bought tickets for a football game that was canceled due to Hurricane Ida. StubHub contacted me to refund what I paid for the tickets PLUS 20% for my trouble. I didn't have to contact them, they contacted me!I am very happy with their customer service, have used them many times in the past, and will continue to do so.

I wish I had seen all these reviews earlier. Terrible experience. Bought tickets through StubHub for an event postponed last year due to COVID and rescheduled for this month. Decided to re sell tickets through StubHub, and they were purchased by someone else. When I went to post up the tickets to the buyer, they were nowhere to be found in my app, in any email in all of my folders, nothing. I tried to call StubHub to find out how to access the tickets, and the phone line says only to call if the event is within 24 hours. Now it's within 24 hours and I've been on call for 3 hours, and nothing. THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I used to like this company and they had solid customer service. This is not true anymore.***************************Update: After the above review, I was never able to reach anyone on the customer service line, after waiting for 4-5 hours. Because I was unable to deliver the tickets I had bought through StubHub to the seller (also through StubHub), I was charged the amount of money the seller had paid for my tickets. I did reach out to the company via email as suggested. I was ultimately refunded the original cost of the tickets, as well as the charge from the aborted sale. While not an optimal outcome, I am glad the company contacted me and made good on their guarantee.

STUBHUB SUCKS- UPDATED- GOT REFUNDED

Terrible company. Went to Sofi stadium last night. Bar code for our 3 tickets came up fine at home but you could not use screen shots, download your tickets or print them out. "Show your phone at gate". Tickets would not load at stadium despite 10 tries. What happened to printing out a piece of paper? That would have worked just fine. STUBHUB SUCKS.UPDATE: they posted the apologetic post below. I responded the same day. A week later they have done NOTHING. Just like all these other people. TERRIBLE.A week after I posted this and responded to their email Stubhub has issued a FULL REFUND which posted to my Visa card today. I will probably give them another chance.

2 tickets on StubHub, refund

I purchased 2 tickets on StubHub in November for the Regional Basketball playoffs in late March in LA. Then the coronavirus situation resulted in that event being cancelled for spectators in mid-March. StubHub offered a refund or credit for 120% of the value. I opted for the refund. I just received it today, credited to my card. I did get a couple of emails from StubHub keeping me informed on my refund, with the final email about 4 days ago saying my refund will appear within 5 days. A couple of weeks after things started to get cancelled StubHub did change their cancellation policy saying they would only offer a credit for 120% of the amount, no refunds.

I don't typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one after the experience I received from a Stubhub customer rep named Shadaye G. from the Jamaica division. I had a unique situation where I could have had to pay upwards of $6k in tickets as a seller, but Shadaye was able to thoroughly work with the buyers and myself to resolve this issue. She went above and beyond her job description, by contacting both the buyers and myself to resolve the issue. She was prompt in her execution and very knowledgeable. She truly cared that my issue was resolved and the buyers' tickets weren't compromised. Based on my experience with Shadaye, my view of Stubhub is an A+, and I think she definitely deserves a raise. Thanks Shadaye!

My Experience

My rating is based on overall experience. I purchased 2 tickets to see The Lumineers 3 days before checking that we were expected to have a snowstorm. In a panic, I searched my options such as, selling the tickets but first and foremost, asking for a refund since I bought the tickets in USD (they would be converted to CAD on my bill). After calling customer service, bad weather is not a valid reason to receive a refund. I truly ask that you be weary of this! I am grateful that the weather was OK enough to drive but still, it was a risky move. I am also grateful that the tickets were not fake as I, again, did not do my research to know that Stubhub resells tickets although you are covered if your tickets are fake.
