Don't understand the bad reviews
I honestly don't understand why ModCloth has so many negative reviews, I was expecting the exact opposite. I first started shopping on ModCloth in 2010 and have, over the course of 8 years, spend thousands of dollars on goods from there and have never had a problem. I do agree that their sizing can be a bit strange but it's mainly because ModCloth sells many different brands of clothing, a lot of them being retro companies too and retro sizes are always all over the place, make sure to read reviews first! ModCloth's own label pieces run true to size and are always the best quality, I haven't even had any of my pieces rip, tear, or ruin. They're expensive, but very much worth it!

I've ordered from ModCloth several times in the last 2 years (with a.couple large orders) and have never had what appears to be common problems with tracking and shipments arriving in a timely manner. I've even had an order shipped actress (2-3days) and it arrived a day earlier than expected. Granted quality of clothing can be hit and miss; and have found some accessories found on ModCloth's website for cheaper elsewhere (an art store for one, the chain store Charming Charlie's another); my only one true complaint is when an item is sold out you do have the option of being informed when it will be.i stock again (on app it's "I need it"). I've done this a few times only to find ot back in stock by looking through the app not by receiving any notice from ModCloth. Overall as a person who hates traditional clothes shopping as well as a mild disdain for trendy, ModCloth is one of my favorite online stores.

Was a bit worried about the order I placed using a promotional coupon, as I read the poor reviews here while waiting for order to arrive. I had ordered from ModCloth several years ago and was happy w my purchases.So my order came. I had received free express ship and it was right on time.Cocktail dress is lovely and unique but a little large so I may return. But quality is good. Shirt dress is amazing and fits perfectly.. I ordered two sizes of the same skirt bcz I’m not familiar/confident of ModCloth sizing yet. So the skirt is just great and I’ll return the one that does not fit. Last item was a retro looking blouse. Home run. All lovely. One note: I read all reviews and find someone of my weight/height and order size according to that feedback. Seems to work.Thanks ModCloth. I’ll b back.

I have never once encountered an issue with shipping. In fact, I have always received orders soon after buying! Modcloth clothes are always as-advertised and cute. The only suggestion would be to have more models wearing the clothing on the site, as you can't always tell what it'll look like in-person.

Great place to buy from!
I found my 10th grade homecoming dress on Modcloth.com. They shipped it fast and in great condition. The website is rather pricy but if you find a good deal on the clothes then it's definitely worth it! There are a few things I would be careful about though. Make sure your item isn't marked "Final Sale". If it is then you can't return it. Also, the colors on the website don't always match the color of the dress when you get it but they are very close. Other than that it was a great experience. I will definitely be buying from them again!

Given a returned sweatshirt instead of a dress
Interesting experience. I ordered a dress for my 5 year anniversary dinner and had it express shipped for 2 days. I opened the package and it's a grey used sweatshirt... No receipt, the bag that had the sweatshirt literally has packing tape on it to keep the sweatshirt inside and it smelled like perfume. And the address that was shipped from was from Modcloth Returns?? I immediately call customer service, and the lady who helped me was so apologetic and kind. I think her name was Lana. She was wonderful. She overnighted my dress to get to my anniversary in time! Hopefully, it comes in time!! I feel a little icky and worried about touching it because of COVID. By hoping by sharing my experience, this wont happened again haha. I have a newborn at home so I'm sanitizing my everything just in case...

I just ordered a couple of swimsuits from an online company - the worst merchandise on the planet - I will never order from anyone but Mod Cloth for my swimsuits again - never had a bad experience with customer service-I belong to a pool club and have recommended them to a few women as I got compliments on my suits

Wow, I'm honestly shocked to see that Modcloth has such a low rating here! Personally, I have had so many great experiences with this company, and order from them fairly regularly with no problems.The only reason I knocked one star off was due to their return policies. If you're trying to exchange a popular item on their site, it's not guaranteed you'll get it. I received a beautiful dress from Modcloth for Christmas, but my mom ordered me a 3X instead of a 1X, so I set up an exchange. It seemed to be going smoothly, but about a week went by, and I got a message from Modcloth stating that the dress I wanted was a final sale only item since it was being discontinued, and they had no more 1X's in stock. They did remedy the situation by offering me store credit worth the full price of the item, but I was still bummed because I loved the dress. –– Also, on the negative, I originally started shopping with Modcloth because I love quirky vintage fashion. As of late, they've started to "modernize" a lot of their items, and a lot of the 40's/50's/60's etc. style dresses they used to carry a lot of are now sort of background items, which is unfortunate.As for everything else, Modcloth is a stellar company. They're very committed to body diversity: you can buy just about everything on the site anywhere between XXXS and 4X. I've had great experiences with their customer service, and they host good sales, and a fun event called "Style Surprise" fairly regularly. Despite the couple minor shortcomings, I would highly recommend this site for anyone looking for something cute and unique. :)
