HobbyKing - When your town has no Hobby Shop
I have to admit that the Durafly line of planes carried by HobbyKing are quite good planes. The Aviios on the other hand are noted it seems for instant replacment of most servos and for lack of parts.Parts are one of my main concerns with HobbyKing, I will only order one of their planes if there are parts available when it is releaseed. That does not seem to be the case, however, not long after being released the parts are unually avaiilable for a short time, after that they become almost seasonal. I find it strange living in Canada the to get the best deal I need to order and ship out of the Hong Kong (International) Warehouse. The S&H charges to ship from the USA to Canada are the Highest I have ever encountered. for less than half I can usually order out of China, then of course there can be quit a delay, while planes seem to arrive withing a few weeks, the small parcels seem to to sightseeing and can, and do take months to arrive. Timewise, they are clost to Bang goods wait for small parcels 6 to 8 weeks are no uncommon, as are 12 weeks wait. I had reported the ridiculously high charges often over $100 for a plane and not too much cheaper, if you order at the International site, half for a plane and about a quarter for a small package.

Ordered some stuff at HobbyKing lately to build my own RC airplane. Upon connecting everything it appeared that my ESC was defective. After brief contact with HobbyKing and explaining them what was going on they refunded the defective ESC. Great service HobbyKing! Amazing customer support and live chat. fast shipping (if you choose express shipping). i had once problem with faulty autopilot i send them video and photo and they refunded me in several hours. im very pleased with them. lot of cheap products and high quality. if you have money you'll not be wrong. i saw some negative coments about customer service but i think they have improved that by 100%

Low Prices, good quality and helpfull staff.
I ordered several times at hobbyking, and even sent one item back, because I did not need it anymore. Hobbyking processed the "No fuss return" very fast and professional and gave me a full refund of the price within a few days. The online chat is efficient, helpful and friendly. When ordring from the international warehouse, it can take a few weeks and keep import taxes in mind! The European warehouse takes about 5 business days, depending on where you live. I think this is more than acceptable! If you want affordable items at good quality (pay attention to the reviews on the site) you sould check it out. I have only had good experience with them and will be definitely ordering there again!

Great friendly service but slow restocking times
I have had nothing but good experiences with hobbyking from my very first order to my most recent, my only issue is parts for my desert fox being on backorder for what seems like an eternity. Other then that been great. I try to make sure everything I buy is in stock in the US Warehouse, makes shipping a breeze. I'm sad to see them get such a bad rep. Quality wise the products are pretty good. I absolutely love the Graphene batteries they sell

The model I received from Hobby King…
The model I received from Hobby King had a broken canopy. I believe it was done at the factory by wrapping the bubble wrap too tight. Everything else was in great shape and no damage to the box. I contacted them and they asked me to send them a picture. I did and they ordered a new canopy for me at no charge. You can't ask for much more than that.Ron

its a shame that most reviews are bad ones because thats when someone want to vent there anger or frustration.my very 1st order that arrived in very good time was the wrong item.contacted via online customer returns/wrong/damaged order.sorted the same day and the correct item posted parcel force 48every seller can make a mistake, but hobbyking corrected this one quickly and efficiently.i will be making many more purchases from them

Got all items, but paying customs & VAT was questionable
I ordered a couple of items from HobbyKing from the International Warehouse about a month ago.Even though I did receive all items in one piece and all of them are fully functional, the company which delivered the package (SCS Express) charged me the VAT & customs right after the item arrived in the so-called "European hub" and not when it arrived in my destination country. I have serious doubts whether this is legal or not. Also, the document they send you in email looks anything but a serious customs declaration document, as if a 14 year old kid made it in Microsoft Word. I read on a forum that they charge you every time regardless whether you really have to pay customs & VAT in your country. Some people escalated this to PayPal and eventually PayPal decided in favor of them. So in theory, this is a fraudulent practice.Also, some other guy explicitly told them not to use SCS Express as a courier company, yet they chose SCS Express. Overall, I feel lucky but I won't order from them again.
